This Balboa control valve is used in conjunction with a bypass circuit, to maintain the speed of water flow within the recommended limits for a Clim8zone heat pump. It designed for use on any plumbing circuit that uses pipe diameters of 50 mm or less (including 1.5-inch), and also for pumps with a power rating of between 1.5 kW and 3 kW, regardless of the size of the pipe.
If you are using fatter pipe (such as 63 mm or 2-inch) and a pump with a power of 1.5 kW or less, then you should use the low-velocity flow regulator instead.
If you are using a pump that is more powerful than 3 kW, then you should add a separate, manually-adjustable valve to reduce the flow rate through the heat pump. Please contact us for more information.
